Funky Short Hair With Highlights

banquet July 2, 1925: Discourses of John Royère

was cited maintefois the name of John Royer in these places. Saint-Pol-Roux regarded his "brother in poetry". It was, then a young director of the influential and contested Falange, the source of the request addressed to Jules Claretie claiming that the lady with the scythe was played at the French comedy - it was in 1909 - then he was, until the death of the old bard, an unfailing support. It will come back.

Royère memorable banquets attended both the 1909 and 1925. He served during the turbulent last stakeholder who paid homage to Saint-Pol-Roux. It seems that his speech was delivered - but was it understood? - Either the brawl rachildienne had not yet started, either because it was completed. Royère was also for him the respect of the surrealists André Breton and - did not he published the first poems of the latter in its Phalanx ? Their poetic roads, however, had been very open. The magazine, La Vie , had the good idea to reproduce the speech in its issue of September 15, 1925 ("Letters and Arts," p. 310), and as good ideas deserve to be repeated, back on stage eighty-five years later
Saint-Pol-Roux by Jean Royer
Historic Speech at the banquet offered in Saint-Pol-Roux Croft des Lilas .
If I started my PhD with a hello: What is the symbolism, you just take me a pedant at the Sorbonne! It does not define what is alive and twenty-five years we have buried thousands of embryos schools in the ashes of the phoenix!

Saint-Pol-Roux is both a symbol and personification Symbolism! To gauge its vitality, just look up what "young Nestor" (I take a hypotyposis Paul Fort!).

Symbolism is poetry! For forty years, she triumphs. It is sometimes said, "But where is the poetry? Where are the poets?" I answer. "Everywhere." Everything is now involved in poetry. Without waiving its benefits, we leave in terms of abstraction: We no longer say: The Science and Art, Thought and Image: the Concept and Feeling, and we do not even reiterate: the Spirit and Worldwide, the self and not-self; the Individual and the Crowd. We say: Life or Dream. Poetry is the place where the contradictions disappear.

This poetry large and smooth, wide and narrow, haughty and humble, human and panic, as I said Saint-Pol-Roux is the paragon. And you know you want me to say too much support this evidence.

Like the poet of the divine emphasis since:
Bigger than the sea is the word that names it! ...
The lyricism that overflowed in 1885, on the planet, was a verbal intoxication. Romanticism of Victor Hugo was rich in words, poor rounds, yet in poetry, are syntactic units. Tropes of Symbolism nascent redid the Divine Child - the word - in the language. What authority over souls that authority conferred on the verb! Innumerable laughter of the waves, or leaves of the forest ocean is an approximation of this emphasis, and I apply to Saint-Pol-Roux same hyperbole which he crowned Verlaine
He did not su, Paris, your pages appeared,
What the Hell and Heaven had set his hand,
And when Verlaine was going through its streets
Passed a forest in a human suit.
But I also like Saint-Pol-Roux sweetness and humility. If he speaks like a child, he is soft like the people he is caressing.

The Lady and the Faulx asked on our thirty years of kisses sacrent: we've all been Magnus. Who was it who could also challenge this masterpiece? His drama is like the lion that we see of his manor: he watches the ages!

Pads Procession is poetry in three dimensions. It contains infinite in parthenogenesis. She is the flower that sings in the stories: we hear everywhere we do not see anywhere. Humanity and Nature incantent them mutually. Do not they contain, these altars, The Rose and the Thorns the Way, that is to say, the two faces of happiness. They lead us to La Colombe at the Peacock by Raven, which is a way to drown love and death in the vast stellar. Finally they offer us the Extravaganza Internal and those are all of us. But where does the procession, when it topped altars? ... And what is that The Lady the Faulx ? If you want to know, not read the written work, but the life of Saint-Pol-Roux. It is like that of Mallarme's poem par excellence!

What Was The Least Successful Car Ever?

A new addendum to BASPR4: A letter from Jules Renard Paul Fort

Kensaku My friend just to remind my forgetful memory that was mention of Saint-Pol-Roux found in Letters (1884-1910) Jules Renard, published by Le Cherche Midi editor in 1997. It is in a letter to Paul Fort, dated January 27, 1909. Here it is:

44, RUE DU ROCHER-PARIS Eighth
January 27, 1909
My dear friend Paul Fort,
I never dines in the city, except the Goncourt Academy, (he I must. ") If I promise to attend the dinner in Saint-Pol-Roux, it would be with the ulterior motive of sending you a telegram of apology.
I do not think the name is fun to Saint-Pol-Roux, without the presence. It goes without saying that if you still want to name, I will entrust him with pleasure, that thou convinced I will make him intact when I need it.
To you and yours,
Jules Renard
I saw Mr Paul Fort recently. She seemed so young! Poetry keeps you. Prose we age.
you will have guessed that the "dinner Saint-Pol-Roux" mentioned refers to the banquet The Lady and the Faulx be held on 6 February. Jules Renard will not participate but, yielding to the request of Paul Fort, his name still appear the organizing committee of the event, alongside names Rachilde, Paul Adam, Edouard Ducoté, Andre Fontaine, Paul Fort, Charles-Henry Hirsch, Gustave Kahn, Legrand-Chabrier, Camille Mauclair, Stuart Merrill, Francis Miomandre, Albert Mockel Jean Moreas, Charles Morice, Alexandre Natanson, Julie Ochse, Edmond Pilon, Henri de Regnier, Jules Romains, Jean Royer, André Salmon, Alfred Vallette, Emile Verhaeren, Francis Viele-Griffin, Tancred Visan: a damn fine cohort.

Strangely, we do not find the friend Fox among the main signatories of the Motion to Jules Claretie quoted Saint-Pol-Roux In a letter to Victor Segalen. Although he was absent from the banquet, it is hard to imagine the Magnificent not send him in the days that followed, a letter asking him to add his signature to the petition, as he failed to do so for other important personalities : Rostand, Rodin and Schwabe, for example.

Jules Renard, after all, was an old acquaintance, whom he met in the offices of wailing Mercure de France. Then the committee read the Art Theater of Fort friend Paul. Saint-Pol-Roux then considered a "curious character," enjoying "among all those thorns, the original [...] Pink visions could not be more charming. "A taste for the unexpected image them together. Jules Renard, novelist, was a beautiful in its own way, which escaped, of course, not the poet:
December 14 [1893].
Saint-Pol-Roux said:

- If Fox! You are beautiful. We are all beautiful. Jules Renard and Saint-Pol Rufus, basically the same thing. You made what I do comedy to tragedy. Ten years ago, I wrote Firefighters the village, you could sign today curiosities of the same phrases, the struggle of the concrete and the abstract. We start from a common point to lead us in both directions is absolutely opposed. Is not that your opinion? Have not you noticed it yourself?

in Journal of Jules Renard , Bibliotheque de la Pleiade, NRF Gallimard, Paris,
1960, p. 191
The author of The sponger unfortunately did not write his response, he made one. It would be funny, failing, and perhaps instructive to compare some texts of natural Stories poems with the "animal" of the procession Reposoir . It found a common nature: "This beautiful idea of Saint-Pol-Roux trees that birds such as exchange of words" ( Ibid., May 7, 1894, p. 221). But as we leaf through the admirable Journal , do not stop in so good way, and prick on this post the last appearances of the Magnificent in icelui: they will be most relevant to them s'ombrent damalafalcique silhouette.

On April 4, 1897, Fox is in Jules Lemaitre:
It changes the conversation by showing me a manuscript of Saint-Pol-Roux, a piece unplayable, but amused. Roux has written two letters "magnificent". Lemaitre bed of beautiful pictures, but none would. Twould not even words.
- Someone will come, "I said Roux, who will read all this and adapt to French taste.
Lemaitre also said that everything is already in Hugo. It ignores Claudel. (P. 401)
poet, freshly back of the Bulge, then trying to find a theater to its Hospital Dame. Is he the one who gave his manuscript to read drama critic of Hansard political and literary or the latter he received a Director or a theater director - Sarah B. not to mention the point - who wanted some advice? It is impossible to conclude, but still note that the criticism of Fox will join the one that Sarah B. Magnificent in the drama was not feasible, as it is in France. But was it not rather to France to adapt?

Decidedly, the manuscript traveled it is found May 7, 1898 in Edmond Rostand:
Saint-Pol-Roux sent him a manuscript, the lady with the scythe, which the sweetest madness is dotted with talent.
Personally, I do not know if that last sentence was, or Fox Rostand - we only know where it comes from? - A criticism or a compliment ...

This is perhaps what best defines the literary friendship experienced by both men, and the lyrical narrative: a certain ironic distance.

Departure Time For Pierhead In Liverpool

Victor Segalen - The Exotic: Journey to the Land of A Bibliophile

ago, for bibliophiles, all kinds of catalogs: the very simple, made photocopies stapled, small format paperback, large format on recycled paper, -paper-ice, digital, purely descriptive, to-the-more-detailed instructions, general practitioners, specialists, themes, etc.. In short, there are a multitude of types of catalogs for book lover. I love to receive and take the time to browse in the feverish hope of finding information is lacking or scarce in my library. I then handed in a box, sleeping in a corner of my garage because of the space in my office. There has, however, who will not have this spell, and is the latest catalog of the Library Pierre Saunier, received last week and dedicated to Victor Segalen - The Exot .

Let's not wait: this is certainly a catalog, with physical descriptions and price list, and yet it is something other than catalog "classic" c ' is simply a book, and a very beautiful book, beautifully printed, airy, richly illustrated, relying on large margins. This, of form. As for content, there are no fewer than 229 entries, not just ordralphabétiquement arranged but arranged so that it is traced through biographical and geographical (the medical thesis on Clinicians ès-lettres, Polynesia, China), influences and friendships of the traveler-poet (Gauguin, Debussy, Rimbaud, Claudel, Gilbert de Voisins, Claude Farrere, Jules de Gaultier, Saint-John Perse, Saint-Pol- Roux). And references to Pierre Saunier, his introductory stelae, are generous, documented, valuable. I dare not imagine the time it took to assemble material in this catalog, the 229 books and documents, for most of a superb rarity. Judge for yourself: three of the 81 personal specimens of the original edition of Stelae , printed on paper Imperial Korea: No. 64 Albert of Pouvourville, No. 63 of Natalie Clifford Barney, No. 22 by Claude Farrere; The Immemorial, a copy of the author; Clinicians ès-lettres with a long and beautiful sending the pianist Jean Cras, his cousin, to which Saint-Pol-Roux spend a beautiful sonnet, the first paper of books by Gilbert de Voisins, with dedications to amusing himself, manuscripts and a copy of the Philosophy fragrances Charles Regismanset with Remy Gourmont belonged to, but also and of course beautiful entries: nothing less than a letter - and a very beautiful - his elder by Segalen, about The Lady and the Faulx the editorial board of the French comedy had to refuse (" When here, I chafed against the stupidity and apathy, or worse, those who listen and do not jump thee neck, you said you lyrics that are as beautiful as they maintain the beauty outside ... "), copies of Scapegoat (that of Alfred Vallette), The Soul of black Prior white of The Rose and the Thorns Road of From the raven dove peacock , the Extravaganza Home of The Lady and the Faulx , the first volume of Reposoir procession (1893), with a shipment to Alexander Mercier Collaborating Outside , whose copy is full of three letters and an autograph card of Saint-Pol-Roux in the latter. And nothing to spoil, like Peter Saunders writes about the friendship between the poet ideorealist Segalen, because so right and so rarely told by specialists:
"[Saint-Pol- Roux] is one of the first major literary events Segalen, and he had on a young naval officer with more lasting impact than a still Huysmans or Gourmont - letters published (editions Rougerie ) have shown, as they reveal more of his affectionate attachment all the hope that Saint-Pol-Roux began in him. "
Yes, it's a wonderful book that this catalog, and I 'I ordered, as such, in my library, from which I emerged, less pretty, more horny, worthless bibliophile, my two volumes of the works of Victor Segalen appeared in the collection "Mouthpieces", to reread them. because this is the wonderful success of Peter Saunders: It reminds us how great and essential traveling companion is the poetry of the exotic - Victor Segalen .

Thanks Bruno Leclercq me, the first reported the existence of this catalog.

How Safe Is Ramripril

output Wed July 26, 1919 or how Saint-Pol-Roux was saved from shipwreck

Le Conquet (Brittany)
July 30, 1919.
The lifeboat Conquet Lieutenant Peter Geruzez is out, July 26, around 7:00 am, the port of Le Conquet to bring relief to the fishing vessel lobster boat from England, Saint Pol Roux , 1708 Camaret, foggy weather that had run aground on the northern tip of the island Beuniguet. On arrival the lifeboat to the scene, the operator found that the crew of the lobster was safe in the boat's edge. The Saint Pol Roux was well on one side and capsized, lowering the sea again, he had only request the assistance of the navy did not fail. The day is indeed a tug and a bugalet of the port of Brest were able to save the building, which was towed to Conquet, where, after a repair 24 hours He returned to sea and is made only to Camaret.
The Secretary-Treasurer of the Committee of Rescue ,
THE VILLAIN.
( Report submitted by Mr. Hortensius Tissier, Chairman of Rescue .)
in ANNALS OF MARITIME RESCUE (54th year, 3rd and 4th quarters 1919, p. 106 )
Note: is quite by chance I discovered this brief relationship that we learned of the existence, in 1919, a lobster named after our poet. I knew there had been one in 1959, inaugurated by Divine, which was followed by a tuna, also beautifully appointed in the 1970s, Saint-Pol-Roux, of course, was President of Regatta Camaret, and shortly before his death, honorary president of the Central Rescue of Shipwrecked, but I knew that just 14 years (and perhaps even less) after installation Camarétois, they gave her a beautiful name for a poet to a boat fishing. An anecdotal probably nothing ... yet nothing that indicates a successful integration: that of Castellan strange accent in Provence to put in Parisian society gendemers simple and rough.
