This Christmas: three albums of Saint-Pol-Roux for children (those who are and / or those who remained)

It has not escaped the wise people, large and small, who got up this morning, will be found under their Vosges fir or plastic, more or less quantifiable gifts that we are on Christmas Day. I happened to say, already, how this feast has importance in the legend saint-pol-Roussine . Today I just want to attract the attention of a few faithful of this blog on the work of a small Parisian publisher, who had the wonderful idea eight years ago, to illustrate three poems or prose Tales from Saint-Pol-Roux and publish them. I will not dwell more on editions Pedestrian if these three albums were wonderfully successful. If they were, emmi literary production for youth too often tasteless, poetic cobblestones in the pond.

choice, first, the three texts ideorealists was relevant. Not that the poet was nonplussed that we want sometimes, because of having read, say, but it was certainly select those, more narrative, which could most directly aimed at children. The duck goose , the puller hours , Saint Nicolas des Ardennes , are few.

He was also brave to bet on works including poetry overwhelms the narrative in all directions.
"And what a pious care was the incubator of his duty! Tacitly As it follows the gradual changes taking place in the temple of his feathers! Do not it look like she officiates, or rather has Does not look serious to a deity who will make creatures? She knows that in the bud after the first day of lines already taking shape, after the second day tiquetaque the heart, after the third blood was channeled, after the fourth body is different, after the seventh cervical emanates from the body, after the ninth and tenth curl feathers in their sheaths , after the eighteenth the skeleton is complete until the nineteenth chick will break the membrane that surrounds, that finally the twentieth to the twenty-first day the walls of the shell burst in the vitality of the recluse and so many bells will ring live Little Christmas. "

Illustrations, finally, Ortega Frédérique Michel Renaud and Barreteau Perrin, are nothing less than formidable; like the text, they do not take our little blondes, brunettes or redheads for insufficient imaginations that need to be pre-chew the meaning of any reading. The editions Pedestrian make beautiful books for children of all ages. I've had in my library before being father and they delighted me. And I am looking forward the day when I read to my son ... to awaken.

Cope With, peace in Lebanon (or no)

Friends Lebanese tremble :
The skipper of the UMP group in the Assembly [Jean-Francois Cope] tries, also launched in each of his trips initiative "Inter". In Lebanon, he came up with Fouad Siniora, a working group to reflect on the issues "and cultural identity," which, he believes, are called to take on increasing importance.
The government, which already applies to Bashir Gemayel program in France and the leader of the party that gave us Hadopi for culture, surveillance cameras, the debate on "national identity" and the ban burqa, will therefore assist Lebanon to "think questions "cultural identity". " Good luck.

Incidentally, I would know how many former colonies of France went on to advise their national identity. Madagascar, Algeria, Vietnam, etc.. Please use the French to tell you what is your culture and national identity, you will not be disappointed.

A small report on France 3 Saint-Pol-Roux

Once is not custom: we keep silent and let the images speak. This is a small subject in August 2008, conducted for the newspaper France 3 Brittany, who was apparently recycled at the beautiful exhibition Saint-Pol-Roux last winter which we see some views in the first seconds.

There is little in this subject a few shortcuts and mistakes, but I promised to keep quiet. So I leave readers evolved into the audience care to discover and rectify.

theft of organs from Palestinians It was true then

The method is now standard:
  • a Western journalist published an article very embarrassing for Israel section goes almost unnoticed;
  • networks Zionist locate the item and a huge rise scandal, the article is immediately accused of anti-Semitism, the Israeli authorities are in the mountains (requiring a conviction in the country where the newspaper is published);
  • Western media then refer the matter, but only in terms the charge of anti-Semitism and "tensions" between Israel and Western countries;
  • end of the first episode. Nobody cares, obviously, the content "embarrassing" to the original article, investigates the revelations, and simply best to investigate the personality of the journalist and his "network" (genus : the text was taken on the sites "conspiracy" on the Internet, so the journalist is someone fishy);
  • then learns a few months after that embarrassing information was true (usually because an Israeli media was checked and if valid Aljazeera such information, it obviously has no interest) and response of Western media: the worst (French situation), virtually no recovery, at best, it evokes information quickly, but trying to identify the effect of this info from "the wrath of the Arab-Muslim world."
The story that interests me today, is that of organ theft from Palestinians killed by Israeli forces.

For the media, the affair begins with the article by Donal Boström in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. The article was translated into French by the network Tlaxcala.
Families in the West Bank and Gaza were sure what had happened to their son: "Our son used as involuntary organ donors," said Khaled near Nablus, as the mother Raed Jenin and uncles and Mahmoud Nafes in the Gaza Strip, which have all disappeared during a number of days before returning at night, killed and autopsied.

"Why else keep the body for at least five days prior to let us bury them? What happened to the body during this period? Why do they perform an autopsy, against our will, when the cause of death is obvious? Why are they made body of night? Why with a military escort? Why is it the area sealed off for the funeral? Why is electricity cut off? "Nafe's uncle was upset and he had many questions.
The article becomes a "case" that when the government Israel responds with an exaggerated staggering properly. The media treatment does not then the bottom section (the charge of stealing body by Israelis on Palestinians killed by Israeli army), but only the "tensions" between Israel and Sweden. There are dozens of times in the French media. For example, on the point: "Israel rising tone against Sweden after an article deemed anti-Semitic " on the bottom of the article, like all newspapers, it is only mentioned "Aftonbladet does, however, no evidence, editor saying he authorized the release because the case "raises a number of pertinent questions."
"We are not asking for an apology from the Swedish government, we want to share a conviction (section)", said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the weekly cabinet meeting, according to an official source.

In Israel, hundreds of Israelis have signed an online petition against the Swedish furniture giant Ikea, according to Haaretz.

"The crisis will continue as the Swedish government has not changed his attitude about this anti-Semitic article. Whoever does not condemn is not necessarily welcome in Israel " told reporters that the Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz.

"The Swedish government can no longer remain silent. In the Middle Ages, it was spreading slander accusing Jews of preparing the unleavened bread of Easter with the blood of Christian children, and today it is the IDF (Israeli army) who are accused of killing Palestinians to remove their organs ", accused the minister.

These diplomatic tensions fall to worst, while the Swedish foreign minister Carl Bildt is expected to visit Israel in ten days. Sweden holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.

[...]

The Israeli foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, bluntly compared the attitude of Sweden in this case to the neutrality policy it adopted during the Second World War. "At that time also, Sweden refused to take action" against the Nazi genocide, "he alleged.
can search the archives about this article, we will not find any French media to go further than this sentence "Aftonbladet does, however, no evidence." Testimonies of Palestinians are, of course, never evidence.

Case closed.

Yet according Romandie, " Aftonbladet returns on organ trafficking Palestinians "August 23:

Two of its journalists have interviewed this week in the West Bank village of Imatten mother and brother Bilal Ghanem Achmad, who, by Swedish newspaper, is a 19 year old killed by Israeli soldiers 17 years ago, suspected of having been a leader in the first intifada.

Saadega Ghanem, Bilal's mother, said May 13, 1992, after killing the soldiers carried the body of his son to Israel by helicopter. Delivered a few days later the family, the mother says so that "Bilal was lying in a black bag. He no longer had any teeth. The body had been open from throat to belly and very poorly sewn.

The newspaper wrote that the younger brother of Bilal, Jalal Achmad Ghanem, 32, "believes that organs have been stolen."
Yet, CNN published a story Sept. 2: "Donor says he got Thousands history for kidney " According To
Scheper-Hughes, Who Is In The Final Stages of Writing a book is organ trafficking, Much Of The world's illicit traffic in Kidneys Can Be Traced to Israel.

"Israel Is The top," she said. "It has tentacles Reaching Out worldwide."
While the investigation is not "theft" of organs, only the illegal sale of organs. But it has traffic that "Israel is the top".

Incidentally, we learn that we are not talking about small sums. Bribes, kickbacks between 5000 and 10000 dollars, buying from donors between 5000 and 25000 dollars for a kidney, and, finally: A
Federal Complaint Against Levy-Itzhak Rosenbaum Said He Had Offered to Provide a new kidney on for a year of undercover FBI agent for about $ 160,000.
Especially, Kawther Salam publishes an article supporting and supplementing the Aftonbladet article: "The Body Snatchers of Israel ", translated into French by the network Tlaxcala ( The robbers dead Israel").
I think the Israeli government and all those suspected of being accomplices must answer some tough questions, before complaining of a well-written report appeared in a Swedish newspaper and talk about one case among thousands:
  • Where are the bodies of two brothers Imad and Adel Awad Allah Al-Bireh, Ramallah district, killed 10 September 1998 on the farm near-by Akram Maswadeh of Hebron?
  • Where are the bodies of Hani Ahmad and Kharboush Adel Mohammad Hadaideh killed June 6, 2003 to "Ateel", a town north of Tulkarem in the West Bank?
  • Where is the body of Borhan Sarhan, who was killed Oct. 4, 2003 in the Tulkarem refugee camp?
  • Where is the body of Issa Hassan Abbas, killed Oct. 9, 1994 in Jerusalem?
  • Where is the body of Hisham Hamad, who was assassinated in the Gaza Strip, November 11, 1993?
  • Where is the body of Salah Salem Jad Allah, murdered October 14, 1994?
  • Where are the bodies of two Japanese nationals were murdered in 1972?
  • is Israel able to prove that the bodies of those people, and those of hundreds or thousands of Palestinians buried in numbered graves of the Israeli army, have not been stolen?
  • Why Israel buries victims of it its occupation in secret, in numbered graves, though there was no theft of their organs?
This note, in particular, involves a certain Dr. Yehuda Hiis: "Dr. Yehuda Hiss has gutted three teenagers in Gaza":
The boss of the department of pathology at Abu Kabir (the so-called Forensic Institute), Dr. Yehuda Hiss, said he had received the children without knowing their names, and they had all been killed by nails found in ammunition tanks (darts).
Hiss violated Israeli law when he accepted the children's bodies without knowing who they were and unbeknownst to their families, but it was not his concern. The three bodies were donated to the Palestinian Authority several days after their murder, stuffed with cotton.
But within days, it was already too late. The case had already more important than any other "tensions" between Israel and Sweden. The big show based imputation of anti-Semitism was perfectly orchestrated by Israel succeeded: nobody will look at allegations of the article, that is to say the theft of organs from Palestinians killed by army Israel and its possible connection with international traffic in organs which Israel would be "the top".

Bombshell: yesterday (Dec. 21), the revelation comes from a report of an Israeli television: Dr. Hiss recognizes the illegal removal of organs from Palestinians, the army also, quite stating that the practice would ceased.

Equally spectacular French newspaper does not back the information. I can find no trace of Figaro, or on the World, nor on Liberation. Only an unsigned telegram went on the AP wire news Le Nouvel Observateur: " Israel organs were collected from Palestinians . And there are names that had already crossed into the investigation of CNN and the ticket Kawther Salam.
Israel has acknowledged that in the 1990s, its forensic experts had collected the bodies of dead bodies, including the Palestinians, without permission of families.

[...] The author of the interview, Nancy Scheper-Hughes, a professor at Berkeley, decided to publish the interview in response to the controversy raised by the newspaper article, which was created diplomatic tensions. For this anthropologist, the symbolic practice of taking the enemy's skin has been reconsidered. For the Israeli Ministry of Health, the guidelines at the time were not clear.
Anglo-Saxon media talk about a bit more but, like the Guardian, the treatment is limited to "damage control". Thus, in the article "Doctor Israeli Pathologists allowed on harvested organs Without Consent "(already, the title is a nice understatement), it says:
The revelation, in a television documentary, IS Likely to generate anger in the Arab and Muslim world and Reinforce sinister stereotypes of Israel and Its attitude to Palestinians. Iran's state-run Press TV tonight Reported the Story, Illustrated With Photographs of dead or badly Injured Palestinians.
Two sentences, two crap. The fear is not that information is terribly serious and Israel has once again beat his record of meanness, but that it "generates anger in the Arab-Muslim and it reinforces the stereotypes against Israel. " Yet although Israel has launched the theme of anti-Semitism on the subject and sets the following link: "In the Middle Ages, it was spreading slander accusing Jews prepare the unleavened bread of Easter with children's blood Christians. " The subject is clearly not unique to Arab anti-Semitic stereotype, it is an act of unimaginable vileness perpetrated by the Israelis. And then the statement that it was taken over by Iranian television is able to emphasize the aspect of "suspicious" of these stereotypes "antisemitic", so it's good TV Israel has released this information.

At this point, it becomes grandiose. Almost no French media only contains information (produced by an Israeli television), but Iranian television devotes a story, and it would have the honor of our media not to broadcast these "stereotypes against Israel? There was a crime that should shock any human being, but it is likely to "generate anger" in the Arab-Muslim? The "Western" would no longer capable of any outrage?

Already, the courageous Iraqi journalist who has been in prison for throwing his shoes at the front of the war criminal George Bush was presented to us as "a hero of the Arab world." Swiss vote after racist against minarets, the only practical consequence that it was waved sanctions by Arab investors. As for Britain, she apologized because his justice issued an arrest warrant against a criminal Israeli war. So there would be heroes and anger exclusively Arab Europeans, themselves, would an apology.

In this history, the great circus of charging anti-Semitism, initially stirred by the Israeli government continues to be effective. The news "stinks" and nobody wants to touch.

Three days ago, the Point was able to inform us that in Israel, " organ donors will be priority recipients " (like what, the meanness does not ridicule). And, as was usually right retail Muslim religious prohibitions deemed aberrant much on this one, we avoid to link to a banned religious Jewish :
But at the same time, Jewish law prohibits the desecration of a corpse (nivoul Hameth). The body of a deceased person, as it hosted a holy soul, must be treated with utmost respect.

[...] Given the ban on desecrating the human body, it is forbidden to make a donation to an "organ bank" where there is no specific and immediate recipient.

It is also forbidden to donate a body for medical research or to enable medical students to engage in dissections.
MP Israeli Arab who says that the scandal of the theft of organs is another sign of racism in Israeli society ("inherent racism plaguing The Israeli Jewish Society "), is not cited. Yet it is quite clear: there is a shortfall of donors in Israel, probably due to a religious prohibition which proclaims "the prohibition of desecrating the human body," but you get the book on Palestinian corpses.

So what, a European survey on the new Israeli crime, stealing body at Palestinians killed by Israeli army is totally unthinkable? Will trade "privileged" with States outside Europe are not conditioned to respect minimum human rights?

In conclusion include the Arab Israeli MP Ahmed Teibi :
they accept this, imagine the magnitude of what they conceal.

Dior Dune Fake Versus Real

A new addendum to the "Bulletin des Amis de Saint-Pol-Roux" No. 4

We have to obviously, completeness is impossible. I had already been noticing a few months ago when the friend C. Arnoult unearthed in Wolves Belval-Delahaye, the apology by Ryner of The Lady and the Faulx short but interesting apology unearthed too late for inclusion in the final Bulletin of the Friends of Saint-Pol Roux- devoted to the impossible representation damalafalcique. I therefore reproduce, here, Addendum first published on the blog Han Ryner . Now, lo and behold there that I found in a number of beautiful magazine, The Argonauts , monthly poetry founded and directed by Camille Lemercier of Erm (Managing Editor: Paul Tort), the No. 8 to be precise, surprisingly dated January 1909, a leading article of the director-founder himself, who deserves in turn be placed in the file representation of the impossible ... and turn into another addendum. It speaks, as we read, the banquet Saint-Pol-Roux and death of Catullus Mendes.
The Golden Fleece
The living and the dead
Saturday, February 6, a banquet attended by Gruber at the tavern friends and admirers of the poet Saint-Pol-Roux, nicknamed "the Magnificent", perhaps because of his imposing presence of a musketeer, mainly because of his literary theories. Mr. Leon Dierx presided, assisted by Catullus Mendes. And it was, from the two major Parnassiens, a touching gesture and little trite as to honor their presence and their sponsorship of this event in honor of Symbolism. All the elite of the new generation was there, busy ... At toasts, curious spectacle! The room takes on a public meeting. Bohemians drunken scream of animals and engage in demonstrations of "symbolism" frantic. MM. Leon Dierx, Gustave Kahn, Catullus Mendes, Max Anhély (sic), the good poet Paul Fort, Jean Royer, director of "La Phalange", successively taking the floor amid a tumult varied. Mr. Saint-Pol-Roux finally speaks, thanks, very elegantly holds forth and declare, among other things, that the date of Poetry Symbolism, was born with him, which may appear slightly exaggerated.

Finally, we did sign an address to Mr. Claretie, inviting him to represent "The Lady and the Faulx " Saint-Pol-Roux on stage at the French Theatre. We all signed, but Mr. Claretie, I fear, has not countersigned.

Now here until after that memorable evening when Mr. Mendes Catullus gave, by his mere presence, a fine example of artistic tolerance to his young colleagues, we have just learned of the death tragic poet.

Catullus Mendes was for half a century one of the highest figures of French literature. Since the time of its inception to 1860, he produced an incredible fertility and a greater mastery over one hundred books of all genres, and one could wait for the indefatigable writer works fine and numerous, as Rejane was to play him a Napoleonic drama "The Empress ", the Opera to mount the "Bacchus " he wrote to Mr. Massenet and, before his death he was still working at his ballet "The Feast at Therese" which Mr. Reynaldo Hahn composed the music.

has been accused of not being Catullus Mendes a creator. It remains However, one of the great pioneers of Parnassus. However, Parnassus, which seems very old now, and which is in effect, was, lest we forget, daring in 1860, as well as the symbolism was daring in 1885. And the glory of Parnassiens has not been stifled by the anger of "symbolos," Verlaine said as they tried to operate from the corpse.

Last year, Coppe! Recently Sardou and Merat! stand today, Mendes! and among actors, both Coquelin! An entire generation who died in a short time.

What will the new one that rushes noisily in power? What is poetry of the twentieth century? The celebrities of tomorrow they will be worth the glories of yesterday? Hopefully, believe it, it veuillons with Saint-Pol-Roux. But tonight, thank you not forget our struggles to make a fair and just tribute to our great predecessors of Parnassus, Francois Coppe and Catullus Mendes.
Both are dead! Lord, your right is terrible ...
LEMERCIER CAMILLE OF ERM

And Lemercier MRE (1888-1978), which we appreciate the poise, could rightly regret the quarrels of schools since Argonauts was a truly hospitable magazine that welcomed all generations. She counted among the collaborators or announced its ten deliveries: Catullus Mendes Leon Dierx Goffic The Charles Emile Blemont Jean Richepin Remy Gourmont Verhaeren, Gustave Kahn, Jean Moreas Tristan Klingsor, Leon Riotor Albert St. Paul Victor-Emile Michelet, Fernand Gregh, Ricciotto Canudo, Valentine de Saint-Point, Guillaume Apollinaire, Marinetti, etc.. What is not nothing. Lived little magazine. Camille Lemercier MRE should reorient its quest for a golden fleece more political man who had sub-titled his Argonauts, "Journal anthology of French poetry" Breton founded the Nationalist Party and became the herald of the separatist cause.

Departure Times From Pier Head To Manchester

New on Edgar Until ...

There are more than a year, I put in this place the name very unknown to both Edgar , Belgian poet whose main genius was to recognize in Saint-Pol-Roux a master. We may recall the two signings he had printed at the top of Rhythm of Life and Wisdom of the Poet : SAINT-POL ROUX / THE WONDERFUL / Grand like Shakespeare / Great as mankind, / as Grand Pan "and" A Saint-Pol-Roux the Magnificent / The Michelangelo of Poetry. " It would hardly be less subtle admission of admiration.

I have since acquired two new pads both. The first EXODUS - October 1914 (J. Lebègue & Co., Booksellers, publishers in Brussels and Paris, 1919) is a story most likely autobiographical, the author presents a few lines:
"In these pages we want to track the impressions of a Belgian poet exiled and the vicissitudes brought about by the difficulties of a language scarcely heard.

During the German invasion, he went off to Bruges to Breskens passes the southern mouth of the Scheldt and pursues in Veere Vlissingen, where he believes he can stay. "
In summary, the story of a poet Walloon love of French and Francophone literature, seeking refuge in Flanders, or, for him, right in foreign domain. The most interesting passage of this story is when, at Middelburg, after we have learned that a cousin of the late Georges Rodenbach, he meets the Francophile director of the library, which opened the reservation. He finds himself in familiar country:
"He put his hand on Women, by Paul Verlaine, belonging to the Flesh trilogy : women, men, girlfriends, licentious poetry series that delivered him on his insistence and primarily as the author a collection of poems Sex: Love band. He took the album Masks Andre Gill, admirable portraits load-engraved etchings, prefaced by Jean Richepin the Month, by Francois Coppe, large quarto, illustrated by a special method of reproduction, Saints Paradise and , short poems Remi (sic ) of wood with Gourmont Felix Vallotton (sic ). "
It is not, to my knowledge, in the bibliography of Edgar Both of collection entitled Love band, but this title may be hiding another. The author also mentions an error when wood Vallotton Gourmont illustrating the wafer, the illustrator of Sacred Paradise was Georges d'Espagnat. The extract does not tell us less about the literary tastes of the Belgian poet, between Parnassus and symbolism. Another figure, older, appear a little later, we had already encountered, that of La Fontaine: "Mr. Sw. [The librarian] installs comfortable exile in the reading room and shows him a beautiful old edition complete works of La Fontaine, illustrated with fine engravings and malicious admirably appropriate to the text printed in Van Gelder on antique wide margin. The writer manipulates religious elite and the book delights the saving of souls a ray convalescence art illuminates again !..."

De Saint-Pol-Roux, there is no question in the story of his exile. His name is no more in the next pack: RUBAIYAT (Editions of Literary and Artistic Revue, Paris, 1923), printed on soft paper to 250 in-8 crown. The quatrain Decidedly, was the poetic form that had long elected. We will not find metric of revolution, innovations rimiques, but the same momentum lyrical-philosophical already pointed out in The Rhythm of Life .

I said the name of Saint-Pol-Roux not appear there, his tutelary presence, however, is not unlikely in this quatrain:

At the edge of the ocean, far from the crowd
Simple human hearts still know Paradise
which the angelic peace still seems far
To those that rumor has too stunned!

and evident in the epigraph that opens the book:
"He who has respect, writing, that taste of his age, thinks to himself more than his writings: we must always strive for perfection, and then the justice, which is sometimes denied us by our contemporaries, posterity knows we make. "
In effect, this quote from the Characters of La Bruyere epigraphy all volumes Repository of Procession of Saint-Pol-Roux, first published in 1893 to the last published in 1907. The finding here , the leading RUBAIYAT Both of Egar, reinforces the idea that our Belgian poet had chosen the Magnificent as the ideal model.
